The Arts at TPAAK

Music

According to Plato, “Music… gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination… life to everything.” The impulse to make music is ageless and universal. Music has the capacity to communicate volumes about an era and its people. The Paragon Curriculum features the music of different eras and composers and engages students by having them sing, dance, and perform. Students also learn to discern how one era or culture often reinvents the music of another.

Visual Arts

TPAAK makes the arts a vital component of a child’s education, while at the same time placing the strongest possible emphasis on the basic skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic. The arts offer children opportunities to assimilate and apply what they have learned in ways relevant and meaningful to their experience. Their enhanced skills of communication, analysis and self-expression enable them to compete far more successfully with their traditional-learning peers.

Drama

Drama draws the student into learning through acting. The dramatic techniques are designed to help each child build self-esteem and confidence through performance. The basic skills culminate in performances aligned to the historical periods studied and “lived” as part of Paragon.
